Our February 2018 Spotlight :: Tara Bazilian-Chang
Owner TBC Photo
Tara Bazilian-Chang is the founder of TBC Photo in East Amherst, where she specializes in portrait photography. Portrait Photography includes creating business portraits, professional group portraits, family and children portraits, and acting and modeling headshots. TBC Photo began in 2008, but Tara has been a professional photographer for 25 years. Tara studied photography for two years at the Parson’s School of Design and then transferred to The University of New Mexico graduating with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography. Tara got into photography when she took a class in 10th grade and really connected with it. She says she really loves helping people see how beautiful they are.
Tara learned about ABWA through Sarah Blankenship, Past President, and attended SHINE: Empower. Connect. Achieve Event where she won a membership and re-newed her membership the year after because she really enjoys the group. Tara feels it is important to be part of ABWA because women need to support each other in business. Women come across different issues and obstacles than men, so it is nice to support and share ideas with other women business owners. She finds ABWA to be a great place to learn, share ideas, give and get support with other women business owners.
Tara lives in East Amherst with her husband and son. Her husband's name is Soo-young Chang. He was born in Korea and moved to the US with his family when he was 4 yrs old. He is an attorney and secret rock star (at home). Tara’s daughter is 25, lives on Elmwood and works as a counselor for a non-profit in Orchard Park. She attended Fredonia State for her undergrad and received her MSW at UB. Tara’s son is 13 and is in 7th grade. He is a black belt in TKD and has been playing guitar since he was 4 yrs old.
